How do I add an account?
You can add an account three ways: scan the setup QR code shown by a service, enter the setup key by hand, or import your accounts directly from Google Authenticator. Once added, the app generates a fresh code for that account automatically.
Can I import from Google Authenticator?
Yes. Authenticator App can import your accounts directly from Google Authenticator's export, so you can move over in a few taps without re-adding each account by hand.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. TOTP and HOTP codes are generated entirely on your device, so the app works fully offline. You only need a connection for the service you're signing in to.
Why is my code being rejected?
Time-based codes rely on your device clock being accurate. If a code is rejected, open Settings › General › Date & Time and make sure “Set Automatically” is on, then try again. Also confirm you added the account using the correct setup key.
What happens if I get a new phone or lose my device?
Create an encrypted, passphrase-protected backup and restore it on your new device to bring your accounts with you. Your secrets never leave your device otherwise, so if you lose your device without a backup, or forget your backup passphrase, your codes cannot be recovered. Always keep the recovery codes each service provides.
How are my codes kept private?
Your two-factor secrets are stored in your iPhone's Keychain and never leave the device. You can lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or a PIN, codes hide behind a privacy overlay when you switch apps, and copied codes can clear automatically with the auto-expiring clipboard. There are no accounts and no servers.
How do I cancel a subscription or get a refund?
Subscriptions and purchases are managed through your Apple ID in the App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies. You can manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple Account.
Authenticator App stores your two-factor secrets on your device. Keep your device, app lock, backup passphrase, and any backups safe, and always keep the recovery codes each service provides. If you lose access to all of them, your codes cannot be recovered.
